SEATTLE WATERFRONT

  1. WHY DID YOU CHOSE THIS CITY ? I CHOSE SEATTLE BECAUSE SIMILAR TO THE BROOKLYN WATERFRONT SEATTLE IS ALSO REBUILDING ITS WATERFRONT I TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THIS BECAUSE I COULD SEE HOW THEY ARE DESIGNING BOTH WATERFRONTS AND WHAT BOTH WATERFRONTS WILL BE OFFERING THE PUBLIC.IN MY OPINION THE RESULTS FOR PUBLIC SPACES IN SEATTLE'S WATERFRONT WILL BE GREATER THAN BROOKLYN'S WATERFRONT.READING ABOUT ITS HISTORY AS WELL AS HOW THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS A GROUP FOUGHT TO TAKE BACK THE WATERFRONT BY BRINGING DOWN THE ALASKAN WAY VIADUCT, INSPIRED ME TO RESEARCH MORE ABOUT THE WATERFRONT.ONCE THE CONSTRUCTION IS DONE AND THE NEW SEAWALL IS BUILT THE WATERFRONT WILL LOOK COMPLETELY NEW AND SEATTLE WILL ONCE AGAIN BE ABLE TO ENJOY THE WATERFRONT ITS BEEN WAITING FOR

  2. The Viaduct is very similar to the BQE in downtown Brooklyn as it is stacked.
This is a huge investment Seattle is doing by placing it in a tunnel.

Also - look at the Seattle Museum Sculpture Park at the north end of the waterfront.

  3. Make sure to look at projects that have been built as well for precedent research. There is alot to learn form the successes and failures of a realized project.
