STUDY MODELS

                                                         IMPRESSION

THESE MODELS REPRESENT HOW I FELT LOST AND CONFUSED WHEN I WENT TO THE SITE. THE STUDY MODEL ON THE TOP LEFT REPRESENTS CONFUSED TO ME BY SHOWING IT IN BLACK AND WHITE AND RANDOM BLACK AND WHITE VERTICAL MATERIALS. THE BOTTOM TWO ARE THE SAME MODELS JUST TWO DIFFERENT VIEWS. THIS MODEL SHOWS CONFUSION AND LOST AT THE SAME TIME, YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE THE PATH LEADS YOU, AND IT'S ALSO TANGLED TOGETHER WHICH MAKES IT CONFUSING AS WELL AS THE COLORS.
THIS MODEL REPRESENTS THE FLOW OF THE WAVES. DURING THE VISIT OF THE SITE WE GOT SPLASHED BY THE WAVES AND GOT WET. FROM THE COLLAGE TO THE MODEL THIS IS HOW I ATTEMPTED TO SHOW YOU HOW I FELT WHEN I GOT WET.

                                                                EDGE

THIS MODEL REPRESENTS THE WORD EDGE AND THE PICTURE OF THE ROCKS FROM MY COLLAGE. I ATTEMPTED TO CREATE THESE SHARP EDGES IN SEVERAL WAYS AND ANGLES AND TRIED TO CREATE HIERARCHY AS WELL. THIS MODEL WAS TRYING TO REPRESENT  ROUGH AND SHARP EDGES OF THE ROCKS.
THESE TWO MODELS ARE ALSO EDGE.THE TOP LEFT REPRESENT A PATH THAT LEADS TOWARDS A EDGE.  I ALWAYS IMAGINE THE EDGE VERY BUMBY WHICH IS WHY I CHOOSE TO USE BUMPY MATERIAL FOR THE MODEL. THE BOTTOM WAS MY LEAST FAVORITE IT REPRESENT THE SHARP AND SOFT EDGES COMBINED. IT IS MAYBE TO LITERAL, I USED FOAM BOARD AND CREATED THESE SPIKES THAT REPRESENT SHARP EDGES BUT ARE ACTUALLY SOFT.

                                                                 PROGRAM

THIS MODEL REPRESENTS THE MOTION OF THE PENGUINS. THIS MODEL ACTUALLY LOOKS VERY SIMPLE BUT TOOK ME THE LONGEST TO FIGURE OUT HOW I WANTED TO REPRESENT THE MOVEMENT OF THE PENGUINS I THINK IT WAS ONE OF MY SUCCESSFUL STUDY MODELS.
I CREATED THIS MODEL LOOKING AT THE STING RAY FROM ITS TOP VIEW. I SAW THE SHAPE OF IT SO I DECIDED TO CREATE IT. BUT IT WAS TO SIMPLE JUST HAVING THE SHAPE, SO I DECIDED TO SQUEEZE IN EACH SIDES AND PIN IT DOWN. WHEN I DID THAT IT CREATED SPACE BETWEEN THE FOAM AND CHIPBOARD AND GAVE THE FOAM A UNIQUE LOOK ALSO.
THIS MODEL REPRESENTS THE GILLS OF THE SHARK I STARTED OFF WITH JUST FOUR LAYERS BUT WHEN I FINISHED I FELT THAT I CREATED A PATHWAY AND IT HAD TO BE FINISHED SO I DECIDED TO ADD IN TWO MORE ARCHES TOWARDS THE END.

  1. Your models are exceedingly literal in their execution relative to the imagery that you include to accompany them. The captions are adequate. By including the reference image with each model, there is no room left open for interpretation. While a couple of these are visually captivating, I am only finding a spatial quality worth furthering in the waves, and manta rays. The penguins are close, but I cannot separate the image from the photo to truly ascertain.

Try these again to maybe get away from the literality. The quality of your models is indeed clean. Just push the content harder.
